Jack Kilby was born in 1923 and was the inventor of the the integrated circuit along with the microchip. He invented the integrated circuit in only two weeks. During high school Jack wanted to be an electrical engineer and enrolled at the University of Illinois after High school. He was a technician for the military in India during WW2. In 2000 He got a Nobel prize in physics. He also invented thermal printers and the pocket calculator. He was into the National Inventors Hall of fame in 1982. For 6 years Kilby was a professor for electrical engineering at the Texas A&M university. Jack Kilby died in 2005 after a battle with cancer.
